Changes to Support at Home: No Participant Contributions for Personal Care from 1 October 2026
From 1 October 2026, participant contributions for Personal Care services under the Support at Home program will be reduced to $0 (fully funded by the Australian Government).
Included Services
Showering and bathing assistance
Dressing and grooming
Non-clinical continence support
Eating and meal assistance
Assistance with self-administration of medication
Key Change
Participant contributions for personal care will become $0. (Personal care is moving from the ‘Independence’ category to the ‘Clinical Supports’ category for contribution purposes.)
Eligibility
This change applies to aged care participants who are currently receiving Support at Home and have Personal Care approved in their support plan.

Please Note
Services delivered on or before 30 September 2026 will still attract standard participant contributions.
Domestic assistance (such as cleaning and shopping) and everyday living support are not covered by this contribution waiver.

If you would like to adjust your care plan or increase your personal care services following this update, please contact the Care Coordinator or Plan Manager at the provider managing your Support at Home funds.
