How to use the home support subsidy for seniors in Australia (Support at Home)

We'd like to guide you through the steps involved in starting home-based support for seniors in Australia using government subsidies, a topic we've been receiving many inquiries about recently.
STEP 1: Apply to My Aged Care (MAC)
First, contact "My Aged Care," the contact point, to schedule an appointment for a care level assessment.

If you need an interpreter, please call 131 450 and say "Japanese (for example), please" before being connected to the number above.
STEP 2: Confirmation of assessment results and types of home care subsidies.
After the review, you will typically be offered one of the following programs for in-home support.
A : Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) (Mild support)
This is a subsidy specifically for a particular service.
*Please note: JT Care is currently not accepting new applications or waiting list registrations through CHSP.
B: Support at Home (SAH) (Comprehensive Support)
After the assessment is completed, there is usually a waiting period of 1.5 to 11 months before the SAH budget is allocated .
Things you can do during the waiting period: Checking your out-of-pocket expenses and making a list of your preferred services and providers will help ensure a smoother start later on.
STEP 3: Approval of subsidies and selection of budget management providers
Once the Support at Home budget is approved, we select an operating company to actually manage the budget . JT Care partners with the following two companies and works together to provide services.
